The project consortium was hosted by Ford Otosan to discuss about project’s developments
On July 5th and 6th, FLEXIndustries’ partners met again in Istanbul to share their experiences in the first year of the project.
The 1st day of the meeting has been dedicated to present project’s updates and technical issues: the partners discussed any challenges encountered, progress made, and outcomes achieved. During the session, the partners had the chance to discuss with demos’ representatives, the best approach for the testing activities and the related targets. In the afternoon, ICONS presented the communication and dissemination activities implemented so far, the next plans and some hints on how to make communication processes more effective.
The host organization organized also a tour within the R&D Center with the purpose to showcase their facilities, ongoing projects, and technological advancements. The attendees had the opportunity to observe and discuss the relevant aspects during the tour.
The 2nd day was dedicated to the visit at Ford Otosan production site in Kocaeli, Ford Europe’s largest commercial vehicle production center, with a production capacity of 721,700 vehicles, 436,500 engines, and 140,000 powertrains by 2022. The demonstration activity that FLEXIndustries will implement in this automotive plant will focus on the paintshop (most energy-intensive process), the charging of the produced electric vehicles (EVs) and the integration of PV and battery energy storage system (BESS).
